Registering pleasure craft on Part I of the Register
Eligibility for Part I registration
Part I registration costs £124. To be eligible you need to be one of the following:
- British Citizen
- British Dependent Territories Citizen
- British Overseas Citizen
- company incorporated in one of the EEA countries
- citizen of an EU member state exercising rights under articles 48 or 52 of the EU Treaty in the UK
- company incorporated in any British overseas possession which have its principal place of business in the UK or those possessions
- European Economic Interest Groupings
I/we declare that:
* /we understand that The Register is a Public Register from which any person can obtain a
Transcript of the entries in the Register.
* the information given by me/us in this form is true to the best of my/our knowledge and belief ;
* I am/we are the legal owner(s) of the shares as set out in section 2 of this form;
* the ship is not fishing for profit;
* to the best of my/our knowledge and belief, a majority interest in the ship is owned by persons
qualified to be owners of British ships, and the ship is otherwise entitled to be registered on Part I
* any Nationals of an EEA country other than the UK, who are represented in the majority interest are established (within the meaning of Article 48 or 52 of the EEC Treaty or Article 28 or 31 of theEEA Agreement) in the UK;
* Established – It is not sufficient to live in the UK to be ‘established’ in accordance with Articles 48 and 52 of the EU Treaty. To be ‘established’ a person must make an economic contribution to the UK by being the proprietor of a business, being employed, or having very recently retired from such employment, ie within the last 6 months. If you have any doubts about your ‘establishment’ you should consult the Registry.
