The vacation (or crank) is an internal value for vlm and qtvlm. When in VLM mode it can be 5 or 1mn, in real boat mode it's forced to 5mn. This parameter is used everywhere, for instance when calculating route, we "move" the boat every 5mn and calculate a new speed and eventually heading.

Normally all data are saved on exit. If it does not work it's often because you don't have the right to write in qtVlm's directory. Displaying opponents is only available in VLM mode of course.
