Preguntate porque siempre tiene el aparente de proa y a pesar de eso, va vas rapido con reales por la aleta, si el aparente lo frenase, iria mas rapido de traves o de popa cerrada.

The apparent wind increases in these examples as the board points closer to the wind. Also the apparent wind angle gets smaller as the apparent wind increases. It is interesting how headed upwind in fig 5c the apparent wind is over 27 knots so it feels like you are going very fast, even though your board speed is only 17 knots. Conversely on a broad reach in fig 5a, the apparent wind is 20 kts, less than the apparent wind on a beam reach in fig 5b, but the board speed is higher. So even though the apparent wind that drives the sailboard is lower the board speed can be higher. This is why when you bear off on a reach to broad reach it can feel like you are slowing down because the apparent wind slows down but when you check your GPS your board speed is actually faster.
