Since four days, the larboard rudder of the FIPOFIX was damaged again and immediately after, the holder was broken. The skipper Sedlacek brilliantly handled this problem just with the onboard things, practically without any existing tools and built out of the hydro generator and the plug sword a well-functioning emergency rudder. Nevertheless, the duration is extended again and the doldrums weather depresses the skipper’s mind to extremes. The final sprint run can be also a battle with food provision. Although the skipper Sedlacek has already minimised the daily rations to 1800 kcal, the food ration will be enough for a maximum of 35 days. In the next 14 days the skipper Sedlacek will know the maximum planned sailing time and whether he has to reduce his food ration again.
There is no need to describe the current physical and mental state of the skipper Sedlacek and what stresses and trials he has to go through soon.
