Harbour City Ferries chief executive Steffen Faurby said it was fortunate no one was injured in the collision.
“While the Queenscliff altered course to port to avoid the vessel, it could not alter dramatically due to the Sow and Pigs reef which was portside and the smaller vessel made contact with the back of the ferry,” Mr Faurby said.
“The Queenscliff came to a stop, all crew were mobilised to render assistance and emergency services were called.
“Fortunately, the vessel had remained upright and its’ crew were safe.”
