The purchase from March 2012 (thank you by the way for that purchase) was for subscriptions to Navionics 43XG -- those subscriptions giving you new updated chart content every 5 weeks and the ability to re-download the charts or download them to a new replacement iPad. The old chart files of your 2012 are long long gone... we always update the charts for safety and accuracy as per whatever data Navionics provides us. Each subscription lasts 365 days. At the end of a subscription, charts stay inside the iNavX app (of course) and you continue to view them -- but the ability to re-download and get updates is finished at the end of a subscription time frame of 365 days.
So at this point in 2015 would need to buy a new chart subscriptions for 43XG iPad:
What you bought, technically, was the right to download charts within the subscription time frame -- download in case of emergency restoration was needed, for example, after a hard drive failure. The charts that download remain usable on a hard drive for the life of the hard drive's proper format and usage... but the license we were granted from Navionics does not permit us to give out unlimited eternal re-downloads, not even of a frozen 2012 image of old chart files. Sorry, I can't help you get those files back. You would need to purchase the chart subscriptions again.
