En un manual de motores Nanni, dice lo siguiente:

If the blades of the propeller are foldable:
• Put the throttle lever astern (in reverse). The blades are closed when the boat moves forward. Hydrodynamic resistance created by the blades is minimized.
If the blades of the propeller are not foldable:
• Put the throttle lever astern (in reverse). The propeller does not rotate and create hydrodynamic resistance.
• Put the lever in neutral, the propeller rotate and create lower hydrodynamic resistance than in astern.
Sailing with the engine stopped and the lever in neutral must not exceed 6 to 7 hours in a row. The propeller can drive the rotation of the shaft and damage the transmission. Run the engine for 15 minutes to lubricate the transmission at least every 6 hours. Whatever the type of propeller and transmission, never sail with the engine stopped in forward gear (in ahead). Under sail, close the seacock if the boat is able to reach a speed above 8 knots. Water can force one’s way through he raw water intake and fill the exhaust system. Don’t forget to open the seacock again before restarting the engine.

La navegación con el motor parado y en neutro no debe exceder las 6-7 horas. Se puede dañar la transmisión. Arranca el motor durante 15 minutos para lubricar la transmisión cada 6 horas. Sea cual sea tu hélice (fija o plegable) o tu transmisión, nunca navegues con el motor parado y engranado avante. Si vas a vela, cierra el grifo de fondo del motor si tu barco es capaz de alcanzar más de 8 nudos. El agua puede abrirse paso y llenar el sistema de escape. No olvides abrir el grifo otra vez antes de arrancar el motor.
