Bueno, no hablamos de lo mismo. Tu te refieres al punto 4.0.4 que habla de líneas de vida. Yo al 3.14.6 que habla de guardamancebos. Los guardamancebos deberán ser de cable para regatas clasificadas entre 0 y 3

We are preparing a boat for an Offshore 2 race.
Looking at the offshore regulations, in the 3.14.6 Lifeline specifications A) it says: Lifelines of stranded stainless steel wire.
But then in the Table 8 there are diameters for wire and HMPE rope.
Is it possible to use dyneema rope for the lifelines? Or Dyneema shall be used only for the lanyard?

Dear Toni,
For Category 2 the OSR only permit stainless steel wire lifelines.
Table 8 refers to all Categories, including Category 4, which does permit HMPE.

Resumiendo, las líneas de vida pueden ser dyneema, cinta o cable descubierto. Los guardamancebos solo en cable descubierto.
En nuestro caso es bastante importante, pues el barco en cuestión los lleva de dyneema actualmente (no es el mío). Así que hay que hacerlos nuevos.
