You need a permit for radio-electrical equipment located on board that emits electromagnetic waves

(e.g. for a marine telephone and a radar, but not for a GPS device, as the latter is a device that receives but does not send).

Marine telephone

· Only approved marine telephone systems are allowed (CE approved)

· To be allowed to use a marine telephone you need to pass an exam, because only then will you receive a certificate from the BIPT.
