Salud cofrades,
Hello Mr. Reyes Morillo
This follows an application the Pleasure Craft Licensing Centre received in order to deliver a new Canadian Pleasure craft licence to your name, Mr. Jose Luis Reyes Morillo – The acknowledgement of reception number is QC7431415.
We noticed you applied from Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) for a white Sportlina sailboat of 6.80 meters in length.
Our question: Will your sailboat be principally maintained or operated in Canada (6 months or more a year)?
Please note a licence or registration is mandatory for all pleasure craft equipped with motors of 10 HP (7.5 kW) or more, including personal watercraft, which are principally maintained or operated in Canada.
Owners of pleasure craft of all tonnages and lengths may choose to license them under the Canada Shipping Act, 2001.
Alternatively, pleasure craft owners may choose to register their vessels in the Canadian Register of Vessels.
Should you need more information, please do not hesitate and feel free to contact Transport Canada’s Office of Boating Safety and we will do our best to answer you as soon as possible.
Merci et bonne journée, / Thank you and have a nice day,
