We noticed you applied from Premia de Mar (Spain) for a white Bavaria 40 sailboat of 11.99 meters in length.
Our question: Will your boat be principally maintained or operated in Canada (6 months or more a year)?
Please note a licence or registration is mandatory for all pleasure craft equipped with motors of 10 HP (7.5 kW) or more, including personal watercraft, which are principally maintained or operated in Canada.
Owners of pleasure craft of all tonnages and lengths may choose to license them under the Canada Shipping Act, 2001.
Alternatively, pleasure craft owners may choose to register their vessels in the Canadian Register of Vessels.
Please note that you may register a vessel in Canada if you are a qualified person. You are a qualified person if you are:
• a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident within the meaning of subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; or
• a corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province.

Al parecer, han habido varios cofrades a los que le han respondido en esos términos. Alguno ha optado por pasar directamente a Polonia, y algún otro ha respondido diciendo que efectivamente tiene intención de pasar un tiempo en Canadá.
No sé de qué depende. Si es porque les toca un funcionario más estricto, o si es por la provincia que se solicita.
Sería cosa de que vayamos indicando que provincia canadiense ponemos en el formulario, tanto si el resultado es positivo, como si ponen pegas o la rechazan (aunque no me consta que a nadie se la hayan rechazado).
Sugiero que, a quien reciba una respuesta en estos términos, responda indicando que un grupo de españoles estamos organizando un viaje para visitar Canadá con nuestros barcos y estaremos un tiempo superior a 6 meses por allí, para darle un cierto sentido a tanta petición desde España. Un ejemplo con mi inglés de bote:
"Dear Sir,
A group of Spanish citizens are preparing a trip to sail soon from Spain to Canada, and visit your country for more than a year, traveling its coasts and visiting its towns and cities.
Our intention is to raise the Canadian flag from our departure.
Best regards."
Aunque no es cosa de copiar literalmente este mismo ejemplo.
