the lineal arm unit is very robust and i'm happy enough with it. the algorithms in the control unit are on par with the old autohelm4000 or even the raymarine tiller pilot. No big surprises there. the electric motor gets pretty warm, maybe a heat sink on it would be a good idea. The control head has no cover and I think UV will be its downfall, the only cover they offer is a material one for $50 that u could make yourself. A nice clip on plastic cover would be good. Support is good with emails being replied and available on phone to talk to. All in all for the price it's good, I've done a lot of miles on mine, of course only while motoring, I haven't had a tiller pilot that can keep up in a following sea yet and if there's wind to be had i use bane gear. although the pelagic is good under sail
Aquí viene a decir que el comportamiento es similar a un Autohelm 4000, y que es un producto de calidad. Dice también, "le he hecho muchas millas, por supuesto solo a motor, no he tenido un piloto de caña que me aguante una mar con olas", pero el Pelagic va bien a vela"
- (respuesta de hace 8 meses): i've changed to the raymarine evolution and find it much better although almost twice the price.
y aquí nos dice que lo ha cambiado por un Raymarine Evolution (no indica si es un EV100 o superior), y le va mucho mejor, pero el precio es el doble.
Por mi parte, a día de hoy, el precio no es el doble, el Pelagic está en 949 USD + 110 USD transporte + IVA español, total 1 260 USD, que son 1 260 €. Mientras que el EV100 lo encuentro nuevo por 1 728 € (en SVB).
En ambos casos, me parece un precio elevado, especialmente para un barco como el mío (25 pies), el Pelagic, porque no responde a mis necesidades, manejar el barco con el espi, y el segundo porque se me va de precio, vale como el espi. Lo que me hace pensar que me quedao con el ST2000 que ya sé que no funciona en popas pero es "barato".
