OSBORNE was built in 1928 for HM Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain, spouse of King Alfonso XIII, and was commissioned in 1929.
In 1990 OSBORNE was extensively modernised in Antibes. In 1997 Fairlie Restorations undertook a refit that returned her to her original appearance. This work included the construction of a new period style coachhouse, new fore hatch, modifications to the cockpit, a new teak on plywood deck and remodelling of the interior.
A completely new rig was also built with spars by Spencer Thetis Wharf and rigging by Spencer Rigging and replaced in 1998.
