Iker y Xabi anuncian en Hyeres su participacion en la regata de Douardenez

They claim to be in Hyères on holidays! Iker Martinez and Xabier Fernandez (ESP) are back on their 49er in Hyères. After winning a Silver medal in Beijing, the duo participated in their second Volvo Ocean Race. Now the duo is preparing for the Barcelona World Race which will depart on the 31st of December.
This time they will be both alone, but the Spanish who have been racing together for 11 years will face another challenge: “Our objective is to finish if possible without stopping.” explains Martinez, who fears most of all to break the mast.
Next Week-end the pair will meet with Michel Desjoyaux in Douarnenez for the Grand Prix Petit Navire where they will race on the ex-Foncia 60 ft Open. It will be a good training with the double Vendée Globe Winner, on the same boat they will use for their next challenge around the world! |
