Thing that annoyed me was that the yanks started searching on Thursday (IIRC), on Monday they said they'd given up and only then did anybody really take notice of the situation. Seems like a British naval ship could've scooted across there over the weekend and been on-station, ready to take up the search regardless of whether the yanks were inclined to continue or not. The news reports said that one EPIRB was triggered and ran until the batteries went flat and then another one was triggered, which certainly suggests there's somebody out there who survived the initial incident, hoping to be rescued, so it's good news that the search has been resumed.
