Secondly, our inspection of the other 825s (not including Polina Star III) highlighted a possible weakness in the process used to build the inner structure of those vessels. This process has not been used on any other Oyster Yacht built over the last ~40 years and will not be used again.

Reconocen que el método de construcción de los otros barcos gemelos es deficitario. Que no se ha utilizado anteriormente a este modelo, y que no se volverá a usar.

The only way to check the outcome of the process is by invasive examination taking significant parts of the structure apart. This has been done on Oyster 825-01 and 03 and following these investigations the structure has been rebuilt and, to be prudent, has been reinforced. Oyster 825-04 was only partially built so we were able to verify its structure before launch. The process for Oyster 825-05 onwards has reverted to well-proven methods used on the rest of the Oyster fleet of more than 800 yachts.

La única manera de comprobar esto era haciendo exámenes bastante invasivos. Han tenido que retirar parte de las estructuras de los barcos gemelos (el 1 y el 3) y las han vuelto a reconstruir de modo mucho más fuerte. El barco número 4 estaba en proceso de fabricación así que a este directamente ya le han aplicado las correcciones. Dicen que a partir de la unidad cinco, retoman los métodos tradicionales de construcción clásica de Oyster.

Regrettably, the challenging salvage operations for Polina Star III was such that much of the structure was damaged during the recovery of the yacht and hence at this stage we are not able to confirm whether this possible weakness is related to the loss of the vessel. We will continue to work with the Owner and his representatives as the investigations progress.

Debido a las dificultades del reflotamiento, sospechan que igual la estructura se dañó por lo que están analizando si esos daños son anteriores o posteriores al reflotamiento.

Una pregunta:

¿La quilla fue rescatada en el lugar exacto del vuelco o permaneció algún tiempo agarrada al resto de la estructura y fue recuperada en otro lugar entre el lugar del vuelco y el del hundimiento del barco?

He leído el post entero.Parece increíble!!!!!.en mi particular imaginario tenia a Oyster como uno de los mejores en One.off.No se puede construir peor!!!!!.Pero me pregunto,donde estaba Humphrys mientras estos chapuceros construían el barco???.
Cobran por el proyecto pero también por la dirección en la ejecución!!!!.....Oyster y Humphrys en el mismo saco.El representante del armador debió sacarse comisión del churro porque sino no se explica que hacia en el astillero.....lo del plomo en la proa es de traca!!!!

Si...las varengas se quedaron de 5 mm con el susto del hundimiento y reflotamiento... en vez de tranquilizar a propietarios y posibles compradores están demostrando que te intentarán ocultar cualquier cosa que hagan mal..
