Reconozco que son muy bonitos, y que es una caña este tipo de barcos... Pero a mi me gusta mas la Sidney-Hobart de los barcos mas "de a pie" (muy entrecomillado, porque menudos pepinos se gastan), pero barcos mas de serie, mas de produccion general, aunque sean modelos no muy conocidos aquí. Creo que eso hace la regata mas cercana a los aficionados de base, y nos permite soñar a hacerla algun dia, aunque sea, no en nuestros barcos, sino enrolados como tripulantes (aunque solo sea un sueño)

 MALUKA OF KERMANDIE, construido en 1932, 27 pies. El más antiguo y pequeño de la flota. Algunas fotos más del gran Daniel Forster...          Edito: El súper tuneado para la ocasión y el que más veces ha ganado, con sus ocho victorias!

Aquí podéis ver el descomunal C0:  Y aquí lo extraño que se hacen las alas para aguantar la jarcia:   La verdad, con el parte de rasca que hay, no sé yo si iría muy tranquilo en este artefacto... Un poco de historia, que como algunos ya sabéis, me gusta...
 In ingli...  Ballyhoo in 1976. EVOLUTION OF SYDNEY TO HOBART WINNERS 1945 Rani: The first winner of the race. A timber yacht just 35-foot long cruising boat with cotton sails turned into a racer which took six days, 14 hours and 22 minutes to do the race. 1958 and 1959 Solo: One of the first yachts made of steel. 1968 Ondine: One of the first aluminium boats. She also had a mizzen mast which allowed her to carry enormous amounts of extra sporting synthetic sails. 1972 American Eagle: An America’s Cup 12m boat not even build for the ocean which shocked by winning. She was a fractional rigger. 1973 Helsal: Made of pretension ferro cement. She was known as the “flying footpath” because of the material she was built from. 1975 Kialoa III: This eye-catching ketch-rigged boat and her crew marked the advent of a professional approach to racing. 1976 Ballyhoo: One of the first of the lightweight flyers designed by Ben Lexcen who went on to design the winged keel on Australia II. 1983 Condor: One of the first Kevlar composite big boats. At 81 foot she was the biggest yacht to win the Sydney to Hobart at the time. 1989 Drumbeat: It was the biggest and most powerful boat of her time and owned by Alan Bond. 1992 New Zealand Endeavour: Fractional rigged, super fast and lightweight round the world yacht. This maxi ketch changed the game with her smaller sails, power and pro crew. 1998 Sayonara: The super fast, carbon fibre yacht owned by American billionaire Larry Ellison which won the deadly race. The boat was stripped out below to save weight. 1999 Nokia: The record-breaking round the world yacht was the first water ballasted boat to win the Hobart. She carried water in tanks which could be pumped to either side of the boat to increase righting moment which then increased speed. 2003 Skandia: Revolutionary as the first yacht to win with a canting keel. The yacht was 30m — just under 100 foot. 2005 Wild Oats: Brand new carbon fibre yacht with forward rudders which prevented the boat going sideways. She was allowed to cant out to 40 degrees. She was ultra light, fast and very skinny for a boat of her size. 2015 Comanche: The widest boat ever to win and carried the biggest sail plan of any boat to win the race — over 1000 square metres for an asymmetrical sail. El récord vigente lo estableció el Wild Oats XI en 2005, que cruzó la línea de llegada en 1 día, 18 horas, 40 minutos y 10 segundos. En los mentideros se comenta la posibilidad de rebajar el récord en cinco horas. Con un tiempo estimado de 1 día y entre 13 a 14h...

Precisamente me estaba leyendo las normas para presentarme por allí con mi barco, por si me dejarían participar, os aseguro que si me pilla por la zona, lo intento. La mínima tripulación es 4 así que al menos necesitamos un par de piratas tabernarios
los costes son: 650A$ por el barco 60A$ por cada miembro de la tripulación. 115A$ si queremos inscribir la categoría piratas tabernarios

y en caso afirmativo ¿sabeis cual? ¿lo han de tener todos los tripulantes? ¿solo algunos? ¿el patron? Lo digo para empezar a estudiar  ¿hay que justificar experiencia en regatas de altura?
