Las explicaciones de PH del porqué arrumba al N. Parece que tiene bastantes daños, mayor, carros y sobre todo el piloto. Dice haber encontrado una zona de respiro en una zona de altas pero tiene claro que si no consigue arreglar el piloto pone rumbo a Australia y vuelve a Europa metiendo el barco en un carguero. Desde aquí se le desea suerte.


Pieter Heerema (NED) (No Way Back): “The weather is great I am going slow intentionally steering into the high pressure, because I have a huge list of things to be done which can only be done in a calm situation. I had repair the mainsail with ten patches. I have repaired three cars, on the mainsail track. The going is slow but the circumstances are fantastic. It is like a holiday cruise right now. I have let go my thoughts of the race right now. This comes as a welcome chance to prepare the boat for the Pacific. I am not completely ready but should be by the end of the day and then thereafter it is just keeping fingers crossed that a solution is found to the autopilot problems. If not then that is another reason to be in the north, because I look for a harbour in Australia and put the boat on a freighter back to Europe. Without an autopilot it is just not doable. I am not going back into the Southern Ocean without a working pilot. I have no idea what I am doing with the software.”

Esa no es la actitud para afrontar lo que le queda. Me temo que se está autoconvenciendo para dejarlo.

Opino lo mismo..pero si se mira el vídeo que puso hace 2 o 3 semanas navegando,se pueden ver las guiñadas que hace el piloto...parece que no consigue dar con la configuración adecuada...e igual si pide ayuda es considerado como asistencia...no se...pero creo que se va a retirar...veremos

Yo no consigo imaginar llevar un pepino de esos sin piloto. No creo que valga lo de fijar la caña a las bandas mientras que cocinas o duermes.

Lo raro es que no lleven uno de respeto, me refiero al circuito que debe llevar el microprocesador central. El cuadro de control de esos B& G es muy pequeñín.

De todas maneras los comentarios de PH de los últimos días sobre el coste del barco, de los equipos y de toda la organización era bastante pesimista, sugería abatimiento.
