¡¡ Cuidado con esos métodos !! No vayamos a desgraciar la radio ya que toda la configuración de la radio, las frecuencias y canales, étc así como el MMSI, está guardados en una memoria no volátil, y en principio se tiene que hacer con un ordenador y un software específico:

It is quite possible to DIY, but there is a catch: you need some software, called Prog68. The following is from the Service Manual:

"All Transmitting / Receiving characteristics of the RD68 Series radiotelephones are stored in Non Volatile Memory (NVM). The NVM of any RD68 Series radio can be programmed with new characteristics using the programming kit, Part Number PR68."

It is possible to re-program the RD68 without the software, I have done it. When I changed boats, which reminds me I need to get my user name changed on here. I wanted to swap the radios over. I got my Standard Horizon reprogrammed to the new boat mmsi quite easily (Seamark Nunn) but struggled to find someone with the software for the Simrad. I called a local company that was listed as being a Simrad repairer who although said they didn't deal with radios had a Simrad Technical Bulletin and emailed it to me.

Behind the front panel is a solder link that when shorted out and the radio powered up. It has to be soldered as its just 2 connections on the PCB. You can then enter a new mmsi. You then remove the link. I did find it completely erased the rest of the memory. It’s quite fiddly and needs a fine soldering iron, ideally an electronics type with a sucker to suck up the solder when removing the link. Also good eyes or magnifying glass are essential.
