Esa misma gestoría habla de un MMSI inglés de validez por 10 años internacional, tengas donde tengas la bandera del barco ¿alguien conocía esta posibilidad?

Como ampliación de lo que he escrito algunos posts más arriba, copio lo que dice la OfCom británica sobre las licencias de radio y los MMSI (las negritas son mías); por cierto, las licencias radio que otorga la OfCom son válidas de por vida y están ligadas al barco, de modo que cuando uno vende el barco, debe devolver la licencia y el nuevo propietario pedir que se le expida una nueva licencia a su nombre, que tendrá el mismo MMSI y el mismo indicativo de llamada:

"The Ship Radio Licence

What it authorises

The Ship Radio Licence authorises the installation and use of maritime radio and associated equipment, as well as non-maritime radio equipment (such as a mobile phone) on a named ship, subject to applicable licence conditions. The ship must be registered in the UK or one of the Crown Dependencies.

The licence applies to the ship nomatter where in the world it might be. Marine surveyors in other countries may demand to see the ship’s radio licence, to ensure that all radio equipment fitted is properly licensed, as required by international agreements.

A Ship Radio Licence also assigns the ship a radio identity in the form of its call sign and MMSI. It is important to use these to identify only the ship to which they have been assigned."

Así que, de MMSI britanico válido por 10 años, nada de nada .
