Ojo: Pilotos Raymarine Spx5 Sportdrive A Revisión

Me ha llegado hoy este correo. Los que tengais el mismo piloto, informaros. Parece que tiene un defecto de diseño que puede hacer que se quede la dirección bloqueada. Raymarine recomienda desactivarlo y retirarlo. Esperan tenerlo solucionado para fines de Agosto. El link que os incluyo lleva a un pdf de raymarine en el que dicen que dan la opción entre susttuirlo por uno con el fallo coregido o que te devuelvan los dineros....

Raymarine has identified a problem with Sport Drive autopilot drive unit. As a result the mechanical clutch assembly may fail, causing the steering of the vessel to lock in one direction, with a possible risk to the safety of the vessel and crew.
Because of the potentially serious nature of the Sport Drive problem and the potential to render the vessels steering system inoperable, Raymarine is voluntarily recalling all Distributor, Dealer and Retail stock. We are also voluntarily recalling all Sport Drive units that are with the end user and installed on vessels. (Please refer to the Raymarine Voluntary Safety Recall Notice.)

Raymarine is actively working with the supplier of the component to provide a solution to the problem and it is estimated that replacement units will be available towards the end of August to exchange your stock and replace units already fitted to boats.

To give effect to the recall you must take the action requested below:
Distributor / Dealer Stock:

• Please contact your sub Dealers, Retail and OEM’s immediately and request the return of their stock. Where units have already been supplied to end-users the actions detailed in the following section ( End User/Infield Drive units fitted to boats) must also be actioned immediately.
• All Distributor and Dealer stock of Sport Drives should be returned to Raymarine.
• Raymarine will provide specific instructions for returning these units shortly.

End User / Infield Drive Units (fitted to boats):

• Each end user must be contacted immediately and supplied with a copy of the Safety Recall Notice.
• You must advise the customer to:
  • Stop using the Sport Drive Pilot immediately; and
  • Arrange for it to be removed from the boat and returned to Raymarine or to the Dealer it was purchased from.
  • It is not necessary to remove the autopilot control head, X-5 Course Computer or Compass.
• Inform the customer that Raymarine will warranty replace the Sport Drive with a modified unit as soon as stock is available. (In the event that a customer is not prepared to wait for a replacement unit a refund should be given).
• If it is not possible to contact every individual customer because contact details for every customer are not held a copy of the Safety Recall Notice must be prominently displayed at the local Dealer / Retailer and, if relevant, the Yacht Club / Marina until further notice.
• Raymarine will provide specific instructions for recovering and returning these units shortly.
