This boat is a copy of the ‘Spray’ in which Joshua Slocum completed the first single-handed circumnavigation of the world in 1898. It is one of the finest copies of the Spray ever built. George Knolle, the builder and owner of Stormalong is now 93 years old and is reluctantly selling the boat. Details of the construction and outfitting of Stormalong: Plans: drawn by Joe Hartog, certified Marine Architect. The main alteration from the Spray was to give Stormalong a single large main cabin and forego an after cabin. The boat is 46 feet overall and 39 feet on the water The boat was constructed at the Allemand Brothers boatyard in San Francisco. The hull is 1 3/8 inch Philippine Mahogany over 2 ½ inch laminated oak frames All workmanship is done to a very high level of professionalism and the results are both very strong and pleasing to the eye.
