Perdon si interrumpo tan torrida conversacion solo comentar que Jantar Mantar, esa maravilla de parque tematico del XVIII Indio, no esta en Delhi si no en Jaipur.

Hola Rho Bootis, encantada de que intervengas en esta tórrida conversación. He estado mirando lo que dices, y evidentemente, en Jaipur hay un Jantar Mantar, pero creo que son dos distintos, te adjunto foto del aparatejo de Jaipur para que veas que es diferente del de Nueva Delhi. Creo haber leido por ahí que el de Jaipur es mas moderno y que se construyeron 4 ... pero ya te digo que lo descubrí ayer y aún no estoy muy puesta en el tema, cuando descubra más cosas os las cuento. Desde luego la foto que puse yo era de una página web que asegura que el asunto este está en Delhi ...

The Yantra Mandir (literally the 'temple of instruments', and often called the Jantar Mantar), is in the modern city of New Delhi, Delhi. It consists of a collection of architectural astronomy instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, for his own use, from 1724 onwards. The primary purpose of the observatory was to compile astronomical tables, and to predict the times and movements of the sun, moon and planets. Some of these purposes nowadays would be classified as astrology.

Y vuelvo a citar del Wikipedia sobre el de Jaipur:

The Jantar Mantar is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II at his then new capital of Jaipur between 1727 and 1733. It is modelled after the one that he had built for him at the then Mughal capital of Delhi. He had constructed a total of five such labs at different locations, including the ones at Delhi and Jaipur. The Jaipur observatory is the largest of these.
